James Belasco has served as a member of the NPA Board of Directors
since 2000 for the Network Professional Association (NPA) and most recently as Chairman. James has represented the NPA in the forming of what today is known as GITCA. He supports the NPA websites: NPA.org, AwardsforProfessionalism.org, CNP.org as well as the NPA Job Board. His passion for ethics and professionalism is exemplified his participation in the Certified Network Professional, Awards for Professionaism, and College of Distinguished Fellows.
He has been awarded MVP by Microsoft. He is a past president of the San Diego Chapter
of the Network Professional Association (1997 – 2000). Leadership
and community involvement began as the student representative
to the Poway YMCA in 1970. James joined the Knights of Columbus in 1978. He served as a member of Parish
Counsel for St Charles Catholic Church (1991-93). He is a former member the San Diego Opera Chorus (1985-90)
and continues today as a soloist and performer in the Catholic Church. He is 25+ years married with 2 children. In addition to supporting the efforts of the NPA, James is an avid supporter for the efforts of the Friends of the Poor - a non denominational service organization that works in partnership with relief workers in various parts of the world to provide necessary funds, material goods, medicines and food to aid in the alleviation of poverty and suffering, and of Whispering Winds.
Today, James is a freelance consultant for business and technical services. His current employed as Support Manager & PM for Agile IT, a premier Microsoft solutions provider. Recent work has focused on development of home heath care business solutions. Earl Walls Associates (February 1991 - 2007) employed James
as Director of Administration and Technology responsible for computer
network, telecommunications, facilities, human resources and staff
support administration. Extended duties include service as chair
for the Employee Stock Ownership Plan Administrative Committee,
a lead member of the negotiation team for ownership change.
Network and Computer training began at Penultimate Systems Inc.
(March 1986 - August 1990), James served as manager of systems/LAN
service department for an R&D company providing client service
and repair for the Penultimate Legal Systems an office automation
solution. He was promoted to Software Test Failure Analyst to
qualify software for performance, function, installation and configuration
on Novell NetWare, Banyan Vines, Tiara LanWare, generic network
and single station systems.
James was an instructor for ABC Technical Schools Inc. (May 1989
- May 1990) specializing in AutoCAD and computer instruction for
mechanical, electro-mechanical and architectural draftsmen.
