Professor Pattarachai Kiratisin, Director, Institute for Technology and Innovation Management (iNT), Mahidol University

This week, Stephen Ibaraki has an exclusive interview with Professor Pattarachai Kiratisin, M.D., Ph.D.

Professor Pattarachai KiratisinProfessor Pattarachai Kiratisin received his M.D. degree from Mahidol University (Thailand). This was followed by Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Rochester, a Fellowship in Molecular Genetics from Stanford University, and a Fellowship in Clinical Microbiology from the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center (USA).

Prof. Kiratisin has been a faculty member of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University since 1995. He was appointed as the Secretary of the Institutional Review Board, Assistant Dean, and Chairman and Laboratory Director of the Department of Microbiology. Prof. Kiratisin is now appointed as a Distinguished Professor, in recognition of his expertise in research and teaching.

In 2017, Prof. Kiratisin became the Director of the Institute for Technology and Innovation Management (iNT) at Mahidol University. iNT oversees the strategic plan of the university in relation to translational research and university-industry collaboration, supporting all faculties and students in developing research to the prototype. iNT also assists with intellectual property and technology transfer management for the establishment of businesses and joint-ventures which commercialize university research. In addition, iNT also fosters researchers and students for startup development.
