James Belasco, DFNPA, is a musician, retired IT Professional and mentor. James served business since 1986 in Information Technology (IT) for legal, research facility design, consulting, and cloud computing solutions.
He had been awarded Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) 2004-2007, in recognition for promoting the IT Professional.
A member of the original startup team, James retired (2010-2019) as COO from Agile IT, a 'cloud-first' services provider, listed in the top 100 Cloud Computing Solutions Providers in the world, and a four-time Microsoft Cloud Partner of the Year.
James has served on the Network Professional Association (NPA) Board of Directors 2000-2021, chairman, and since 1994 a member. James continues to serve the NPA as a leading visionary and advisory to the board of directors. His passion for ethics and professionalism is exemplified his participation in the Certified Network Professional, Awards for Professionalism, and College of Distinguished Fellows. He is a past president of the San Diego Chapter of the Network Professional Association (1997–2000). James, representing the NPA, was a joint founder of GITCA (Global IT Community Association) (2010).
Leadership and community involvement include the Poway YMCA (1970), Knights of Columbus, Parish Council for St. Gabriel's Catholic Church (1970) and St Charles Catholic Church (1991-93). James is a former member the San Diego Opera Chorus (1985-90). As a vocalist James participates in music ministry at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and previously at various Catholic churches of San Diego County since 1968. James was for 5 years, Music Director at Mary Star of the Sea, La Jolla.
Additional significant career accomplishments included the procurement and distribution of Microsoft Server 2000 to 3500 NPA members; development of home health care business solutions; chair for the Employee Stock Ownership Plan Administrative Committee and a lead member of the negotiation team for ownership change at Earl Walls Associates; Software Test Failure Analyst for Penultimate Systems Inc.; AutoCAD instructor, landscape contractor and pest control advisor.
