The NPA invites you to join us for our April, 2023 Member Advocator Meeting: Professional Development - The Value of Certification
What certifications do you hold? Does your role require certification? Before you could demonstrate proficiency through experience in IT/Networking, there were certifications. In the 90's, vendor certifications documented your technical expertise. If you passed the test, you could do the job. But times have changed and there are more ways than ever to demonstrate your technical skills. Kids graduate high school proficient in programming, network engineering and data analysis tools. Which brings us to the question for the April NPA Member Advocator meeting - are certifications still necessary? Do they add value to your career, or do they just drain your wallet? This month's In-house Topic: SOHO MOJO - Optimizing Home Networks for the "Work from Home" CrowdWith everyone working from home on the home network, it is now a business-critical channel. Home networks are in the spotlight as not working correctly, particularly wireless networks. In the past, IT pros seldom got called on for home networks. As we are ethical professionals, do we have the duty to assist with home networks? The members of the NPA think so. NPA will be providing a series of short seminars to train pros on how to help with wireless networks. We will begin with back haul and speed determination then troubleshoot and band width, some free tools.
Join us this month for the member only NPA Advocator. This event will be a preview to our public offering coming in June '20. As with all NPA Advocator sessions, bring your questions or concerns to get comment from our community.

In the storage world, one can be certain that the quantity of data that must be managed and be protected will never go down. A major factor that is adding to this data growth is that many of the same or similar files are being stored over and over again and then repeatedly copied into the backup and archive storage. Significant savings could be possible if the redundancy could be reduced or eliminated. This is the promise of data deduplication - an enabling technology that offers the potential for taming the growth of data. This lunch & learn event will highlight new data protection solution and technology like data deduplication, data compression & replication to help accomplish the following: - Reduce backup windows
- Improve data recovery speeds
- Simplify data retention
- Provide cost-effective disaster recovery
- And more
